Northern Townships,
Victoria County, Ontario Canada
The seven townships, Somerville, Laxton, Carden,
Digby, Dalton and Longford, which lie to the north of the Kawartha
water system may be conveniently referred to as "North Victoria."
Like the s southern townships, they constitute a geographical unity,
but the past development and future problems are in marked contrast
t those of South Victoria. What these peculiar characteristics of
Nor Victoria are may best be ascertained by sketching briefly the
history of the individual townships and then drawing broad
conclusions fro our survey.
